Join us for a variety of western all-around classes and timed events.
Saturday Horse Show Classes Offered:
Western Pleasure: Horses are evaluated on the rail as a group to demonstrate smooth, relaxed, and consistent gaits—the walk, jog, and lope—showing a calm disposition and light rein contact that makes them an effortless pleasure to ride.
Horsemanship: Riders are evaluated on their body position, balance, and control as they execute a set pattern with precision and subtle cues—performing maneuvers like regular and extended gaits, 360-degree turns, stops, backing, lead changes, straight lines, and circles.
Showmanship: Competitors handle their horse from the ground using a halter, demonstrating precise maneuvers—like turns, stops, backing, and setups—while being evaluated on their own grooming, poise, and handling technique.
Trail: Horse-and-rider teams execute a set pattern navigating series of obstacles—such as poles, gates, bridges, and side-passes—with patience, precision, and smooth coordination.
Sunday Gymkhana Classes Offered:
75 Up & Back: Horse-and-rider teams race 75 feet straight down the arena to cross a line, execute a fast 180-degree turn, and sprint all the way back to the finish line for the fastest time.
Barrels: Competitors navigate a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels at high speed, sprinting against the clock to secure the fastest time without knocking over a barrel.
Poles: Participants sprint down the arena to weave through a line of six evenly spaced poles, turn 180 degrees, weave back, and race straight to the finish line for the fastest time.
Flags: Exhibitors sprint to a barrel, swap a flag in or out of a bucket at high speed, and race back across the finish line for the fastest time without dropping the flag.
